Author Event: Mary Cuffe Perez

Join us for an author chat with Mary Cuffe Perez, whose new book is Barn Stories: Reflections from a Saratoga County Horse Farm. The stories in this collection are drawn from the author’s fifteen years managing a horse boarding business on a Saratoga County farm. The stories chronicle her experiences with a struggling business and a cast of intriguing characters—both animal and human—whose lives intersect under the gable roof of a two-hundred-year-old barn.

Mary Cuffe Perez is a writer of poetry,  fiction and non-fiction, who lives in the town of Galway, NY.  She has three published titles (The Woman of Too Many Days, Calyx Press, Skylar, Penguin Group, and Nothing by Name, Shaggy Dog Press) and her newly published, Barn Stories (North Country Books),  a collection of creative non-fiction drawn from her years managing a horse farm in upstate NY. Much of her writing is inspired by the history, natural beauty and people of rural upstate New York.

Author Event: Before They Were Our Mothers

Before They Were Our Mothers: Voices of Women Born Before Rosie Started Riveting
Patricia A. Nugent, Editor

Before They Were Our Mothers was conceived when Patricia A. Nugent realized, at her mother’s funeral, that she knew very little about her mother’s life before her mother was her mother. She’d never asked; her mother had never offered. Nugent deeply regretted missing the opportunity to know her mother more fully. To inspire other families to share personal histories, she compiled this anthology of real-life stories about women before they were mothers.

Author Event: Katherine Arden

Join us for a very special evening with author Katherine Arden, who has written The Bear and the Nightingale and The Girl in the Tower.
